      I mean that I'd like to see where you're getting that story. I've heard of pretty young people transitioning before, but I haven't ever heard of parents pressuring them to do it. If you have links to this story, I'd be interested to see them.

        Seriously? Hell I don't even watch the news on TV and heard about it.

        One error - I misremembered his age. He's 11 now (or when the article was run at least), but he "decided" he wanted to be a girl at age 8.

        They *claim* they didn't pressure him, but many of us don't believe it one bit.

          Oh, ok. I'd seen that story, but I guess I hadn't really heard (or maybe just forgot) people saying that they thought she was pressured. I guess it's possible, but without any evidence that they pressured her, I'm going to stay out of it. Plus, I know trans people who wish that they'd had more understanding parents and transitioned earlier, so it doesn't seem that unlikely to me that somebody would know that they wanted to transition at 8. It definitely is something that parents need to be careful about, though.
