Double standards. iin?

If males suffer from double standards, it is just double standards. If females suffer from double standards, it is called "sexism" and angry feminists will run up and down the streets, protesting against it. Don't you just love double standards?

Where are the masculin demonstrators? Where are the man-whore-walks? Where are the "I don't have to be strong and provide for my family"-articles in the newspapers, written by poor oppressed males?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I think you're over-simplifying a very complex issue. Sexism runs deeper than just a case of double standards.

  • Although I'm a woman, I don't agree with conservative feminists; however, I think they have such strong opinions because of how females been (and still being) mistreated.

  • I understand your point and I agree with you.

    • Are you trying to defend sexism / double standards?
Or if a woman wrote an article about females suffering from double standards in a society, would you respond to her: "Men scare you that much?"

    • Being disgusted by feminism, its consequencies, mysandry and ignorance to discrimination of men is far from being scared of women. One can be disgusted by those things without being scared of women.

  • I agree with you with one small exception . You wrote: “If males suffer from double standards, it is just double standards“. However, I think that the reality is often even worse - if males suffer from double standards, almost nobody notices that there is the double standard which disadvantages men because it is considered normal or even to be the state how things should be.
    “Where are the masculin demonstrators?“
What is sad is that when I present my antifeminist opinions, men are often those who oppose me the most. If I say that feminism is a far cry from struggle for real equality I am accused by them of not understanding feminism. If I argue that feminism has nothing to do with equality because it cares only about one half of the problem – the rights of women and ignores the dicrimination of men, they don´t seem to know that there is such a thing as discrimination of men.

  • I think men and women should stick with their structure in society. One no more important than the other. It does sound like you're pissed about something like child support/responsibility for your child and I just want to say. Leave. They are better off without you. If you do not want your family, just leave.

  • You are right and we all suffer from it. Men have them just as women do. No sex can complain the other is putting them down. Since each one has certien rules. However I think the reason we keep one or two standards might be for logical reasons. That and people like to know how to identify who is male and who is female. I think the reason women are expected to wear pretty cloth is they are expected to attract a male. Now a male can not be feminine for he must protect his family and his women. The reason men can be a whore and women cant is simple. Women need to procreate as well as expected to take care of kids often. Men are the thing fertilizing the eggs and can not make children. Not that I am saying these are always right but it does make sense to a point. I also think it would be more efficient for some of these to be dropped.

I would argue based on this study alone that you cannot support your argument as it stands.

  • I think that's too generic an argument but I'll agree double standards exist. It would be nice if they didn't and it would be nice if they were treated in exactly the same way regardless of gender, but the world will never be perfect.
