Dont know how to change a light bulb

Im a girl and always have one of my boyfriends do it but Ive been single the past two weeks and my dad and brothers are in another state. I went on youtube and they make it look easy but a couple things first its way too hot. secondly the last time i tried to unscrew it the glass broke. I also got shocked when I touched the metal. theres too many dangerous things esp. on the ceiling I am worried about falling off the chair.

    • None, because the lightbulb being burnt out is normal.

Three, 1 to hold the lightbulb and the other 2 rotate the ladder

Turn the light off and let it cool off before touching it. Turn it counter-clockwise to unscrew it and try NOT touching the metal. Get a proper step ladder for ceiling lights. And grow a brain. Hope that helps.

How many children does it take to change a lightbulb?

None. Albert Fish killed and ate them all.

  • If the bulb works it doesn't need changing, if it doesn't work it will not be hot. So logically this thread was posted by a troll. I imagine a sad little man who never gets to screw anything unless he is changing a light bulb.

Are you kidding me? I've been changing light bulbs since I was a child, and for so long I don't remember. I can't understand this sort of learned helplessness. Whatever rigid gender roles your family enabled you to grow up with caused this issue. It's sort of hilarious as well.

I was going to make a crude penis joke about changing light bulbs, but you are a girl, so that plan failed... Guess I should try to help... First off, turn off the light and let the bulbs cool. Then try to remove the bulb and grab the bulb itself, don't try to grab the metal bit. If you broke the bulb, you can still remove the metal bit with pliers. Note, if you have to use pliers, obviously do it when the lights are off, cause 220V coursing through you don't feel good.
Replace old bulb with new. Viola! You changed a light bulb, now you can get drunk on Chivas Regal and pass out to celebrate the occasion!

I generally turn the switch off, gently remove the bulb and replace it with the same, new bulb, then turn the switch back on.

I had a pet monkey named Fred. He liked to be rubbed on the head.
But when I rubbed him too much, he then would throw up, so I took a break from rubbing his head.
