True love takes years to occur if it happens. It doesn't show until time takes people past the phase that sexual attraction and romance dominate the relationship. Those things remain, but secondary to compassion and friendship. I've been married 23 years and we will love each other no matter what the other does.
I will say that I first experienced absolute, unconditional true love when she gave birth to my oldest child.
