  • I'm getting this feeling that most don't, but what generation in American history ever really respected the older generation? It's like a cycle really. That's how things change in this country.

Just look at the Baby Boomer generation and then the subsequent generation. The youth of the 60's mostly rebelled against the ideals of their parents and look what happened to society, and changes in general in America.

Another aspect of this that I find funny is when people say things such as ''these kids don't respect their elders, or their parents. What is this world coming to?'' as if the newest generation of youth is going to destroy the country. I feel as though they need to look back at history and see that it's really a cycle. Every new generation always seems to be ''the worst we've ever had.'' Silly in my opinion. But that doesn't mean this generation we have now has problems, but it doesn't mean it's the end all, be all.
