I can't find the chart that listed covid comorbidities anymore. It was listing a couple thousand of them as "accidents"
I dont really ever watch TV. I watch a lot of NASA and SpaceX videos, mostly just because I know its fake. Not a mask argument person, but I've never really been a fan of authority and I resent the government telling me what's "for my own good."
The argument thing, that's the point of news. I feel like for the most part people don't want to seem "ignorant" and use having a strong opinion as a way to seem more educated. I see it as, if Im ignorant of politics or goings on in a country far away, its because it doesn't have any meaningful effect on my life and I don't feel like its a productive use of my time to pay attention to it. I don't care who they select to be president, I barely interact with most of society to where it would make a difference. I'm not against lockdowns for political reasons, I'm against them because they've had a very negative effect on my mental health and ability to make a living.
Most people don't see it that way, and feel the need to have a loud, serious opinion on whatever issues are put out there as being "important" Every one of these issues is usually an A or B question, for example. "Do we let grandpa die from this virus or close down his Hardware store so it goes out of buisiness?" Real life is nuanced, its not an either/or question all the time. Life isn't a series of multiple choice questions with 2 answer choices. That's why there's no legitimate 3rd parties, because every issue only has 2 possible answers.
They're "pre-approved" arguments that the outcome has no effect on the status quo. None of the bankers ruling the world care if gay people get married or not. The issue is useful because its polarizing and distracts from other issues people might have if left to their own devices.
The covid thing is lies with truth sprinkled in. It's very obvious to me this is a controlled and scripted narrative that both sides are using to accomplish other things they wanted to do anyway.
Does the news get on your nerves?
