does the beginning of sex feel more satisfying than the middle?

  • I always find the insertion phase particularly pleasurable, but it's not more enjoyable than the "middle bit".

However, during that middle part I'm not just thinking about the physical sensations I'm experiencing. I'm definitely very aware of those and enjoying them, but way more than half of my attention is on my partner and that's a different sort of pleasure.

Your question suggests you might be very goal-orientated when it comes to sex: the whole point is to get it in, and once that's achieved, the goal is to ejaculate. The middle part is just something you have to get through. That's not an uncommon attitude for men - particularly for young men. It's also difficult to really enjoy the middle bit if your partner is a woman who hasn't yet figured out how to let it go and enjoy sex, or if your technique doesn't allow her to do that.

If you're with a woman who's able to reach orgasm through PIV thrusting alone (and only a minority of women can do that), and if you know the moves to make to take her there, then the middle bit can be by far the best bit. There have been many times when my orgasm has been intensely pleasurable, but my main feeling has been disappointment that the sex has come to an end - or at least PIV sex has finished for the moment.

    • You are a lucky bastard. Im not like you. I have a rubber tube up my cock. I'll never get it up, never. My heart is sinking into sorrow and shame again. I am just pathetic.
