Smoking involves combustion of tobacco meaning you inhale all of the tobacco leaves through a filter.
Generally smoking has more impurities and "chemicals" while vaping you are inhaling like 5 ingredients 2 of which might cause cancer and lung stuff. Then again nearly everything causes cancer so do what you want.
