Does severe period cramps count as sickness?

My belly feels like it's gonna get destroyed in seconds during period and it continues for days. I feel so bad that I can't even get up from bed or do any work during this time. Does it mean that I'm sick?

I'm not a female so I don't know what it feels like. While periods are natural, I believe it qualifies as being sick when you're no longer capable of performing everyday tasks

I used to have a copper IUD which intensified my period cramps and bleeding, and it irritated the surrounding area. I ended up in hospital. The pain was so awful that the first time it happened I thought I had become pregnant without realising and was having a miscarriage.

If your period cramps are so bad that you can't get out of bed then it definitely does count as real sickness and to you should go to the doctor. It's more common than you'd think but you don't have to live like this.

Yeah. On the first day of my period I cannot go about daily life normally I just lie in bed in severe cramps crying. It hurts to even walk. I once had a meeting I couldn't cancel while in the first day of my period and I took 4 pain killers, it did not help much at all, it just made me feel weird and I had to go home early.

See a doctor, that’s far from normal.
