The only things Miracle Whip and mayo have in common is color and texture. It stops there. Mayo eaters typically don't like MW and vice versa.
Why do people call MW mayo?? Especially in a restaurant!! I don't even know how many times I've asked for mayo on my food and I got MW. Gross, and it ruined my food!! If you only use or stock MW, then say so and don't call it mayonaisse!! MW is NOT mayo!!

You should look at the ingredients of the two products before you get your panties in a bunch. Miracle whip is mayo with added spices. That's like saying Dijon mustard isn't mustard because it isn't yellow mustard. I agree, they taste different. And if you don't like it, it will ruin your food. Maybe you should check the quality of the restaurant you are dining at. Places that serve quality food will notice the subtle difference. You often get what you pay for.
Its really annoying when people post on this site and then get all super sensitive when someone else thinks your question is dumb. Granted Howaminotmyself took you super literal, dont act like a little BIATCH telling him about his attitude. Take the shit on the chin or keep it movin.
For the record, i like both and prefer each at seperate times. PS, i cant remember ever getting miracle whip at a restaurant though... where the hell do you eat?
While i still think that it was petty of you to get pissed whan howaminotmyself to check your comment, i do understand the whole "gack" reaction to MW when expecting Mayo. Question though... how is it that you are so particular about that and dont specify it with the restaurant? I dont get it. I mean, its like, when i go to a Chinese restaurant, I am picky about my fried rice. If the shit has peas, carrots etc. in it i hate it. Thats why i ask. No way am i driving home to discover the vegetable medly in my rice. I would be pissed... so i ask... so i dont become...well... you pickin up what i'm throwin down? I knew you would...
I'm going to annoy you hugely and say that I don't think either of them should be called mayo. Mayonnaise is faintly yellow (because of the egg yolks) and is slightly vinegary. The white stuff we buy in jars (and I admit I buy it too) is, at best, mayonnaise substitute.
