Does income/economic class influence who you date?

  • Being in the 1%, I find that it does not matter so much what a 1%er women's net worth is, as much as what her attitude is toward the net worth she has. If she has no sense of the processes and business knowledge required to manage her liquid assets, or family business then that speaks very poorly for her. Knowledge of economics, statistics, and finance is expected among the high net worth crowd.

    Of course, there are smart talented women in the lower 99% that have MBA degrees. But even if these women have pilot licenses, their horizons are limited which excludes them from my pool of interest.

    • Nobody, and I mean NOBODY should be considering a marriage to anyone who is not at least bringing something close to what they are financially to that same marriage. Male or female. Sure on average men have a higher net worth so naturally this would apply more to men (for which I will now get downvoted for saying) but the legal system is set up to penalize those that have it and reward those that do not.

      • This is basically true, with the caveat that within the ranks of the 1%, prenups are expected for everyone.
