Like if the beard is more than an inch long on your chin and face? Does that make you look more scruffy and unkempt than if the beard is a little shorter and more neatly trimmed?

Chicks dig facial hair to a point. Don't be sandpaper but don't be zz top. Those fuckers only get laid because theyre rockers. Or if you're a biker you can get a hot blonde. Hot until you see her face looks like Tom Petty. Rip.
Yeh, I remember when people were throwing out the argument that "looks don't matter, just look at Danny DeVito, he has no trouble getting women". Yeh, because he's rich and famous. If you're gonna throw that kind of comparison around, find a regular Joe who no one's heard of and is a factory worker who lives paycheck to paycheck who looks like DeVito. Think he'll have women following him?
I'm a gay man, but to me a stubble or a small neat beard is best. I don't like either clean shaven or a full unkempt beard
I'm not a fan of beards in general, I especially don't care for the Grisly Adams look, but it sure beats the Hell out of the ZZ Top look. Yuck.
I think Gerard Butler looks good with the facial hair situation he's got going on though.
I think any beard not properly trimmed looks awful. The short less than 1/2" popular beard looks like something still trying to happen.
I love beards but not guys who lack hygiene and basic style. You can also be natural without being gross.
I think the 5 o'clock shadow is sexy, but if it's longer than like 1/2 in it's a bit too much for me.
I've also known woman that prefer a long beard, but they were like punk rocker young chicks.
And since you're a woman talking, that helps clear up what the girl at the gas station's reason for being turned off by me was. I don't hit on women at gas stations, unless they're showing an obvious friendliness towards someone else there they don't know, because that shows they're in friendly mode. Unless someone totally unattractive tries talking to them. I think that my beard being over an inch long, and the fact that half the beard on my chin has turned white is another reason I don't look too attractive. I'm gonna cut it a little shorter and trim it neat, and I'm gonna buy some of that hair dye and rub out that white hair. But I won't shave it all off cause I know women don't like that either.
Ya that sounds like a good plan. I still can't understand why she wasn't being friendly with you though. I treat literally everyone the same. Just because I'm not attracted to them doesn't mean I won't be friendly. I actually tend to be more friendly with people in not attracted to so I can lift their spirits I guess and I don't like being hit on. You didn't want her anyways, don't worry about it. I must add that confidence is key with most woman.

You think that may be one of the reasons a woman I tried talking to gave me the cold shoulder? And she wasn't in a bad mood because she was joking around with the cashier. I tried making quick friendly small talk to her, she looked at me, lost her smile and turned all cold and did not acknowledge, then turned back to the cashier and quickly warmed up again. And she did not know him because she asked him his name. I'm guessing she was really turned off by my appearance because the beard gotten too long, scruffy, and like you said, I looked like someone outta a homeless shelter.
