The thing is, you are responsible for not just how you act but how you feel. A lot of people never realize this, but you aren't a slave to your feelings.
You have indirect control, and the best way to feel better about others is to practice self-compassion to yourself.
You can be in control of your feelings but too many negative people will still drain you after awhile. I know it's them and not me because they have the same problem with others.
Thats probably why I hate everyone. I'm tough on myself and I expect others will do the same. Of course they just bumble about through life never giving a moments thought to anyone or anything other than their base desires and the next shiny object.
Its also probably why people who where abused attract abusers. Because they are hard on themselves.
Of course, life could just be random fucking nonsense.
Self-compassion is the route towards being outcome independent: you can learn not to take anything personally. It's a modern-age superpower.
I recommend you google "the four agreements pdf" and click the first link. It's a summary of a book that has great advice (hidden under some Mexican voodoo).
I will take a look but my path is outcome independent too. If everything is random and meaningless there is no reason to take anything personally either.
I'm leaning more towards life being complete random bullshit. I'm not just saying that. There isn't anything in life I don't find bizarre and somewhat crazy.
Does everybody come into your life for a reason

Read into self-compassion. It will make you braver and less anxious because you won't have a guy inside your head yelling at your mistakes.

If you're not anxious before an action you can't be brave.

Nihilism is man's final boss, and it looks like you are struggling with it as so many young people are. I hope this video helps you win:
