Does dom in the bedroom mean dom out of the bedroom?

Just wondering.

There's a guy I like. We hooked up one night. I know he hooks up often and is into dominating women in the bedroom but I have no idea what he's like out of the bedroom.

He says he's reserved, quiet, nerdy and easy going. We went to dinner after the hookup a few days later and he did actually seem shy. But how can he be like that when in the bedroom he was a dom?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Some people are the opposite of what they are in the bedroom. I've watched my boyfriend at his job and he's a dominating person there, but with me, he's completely submissive. XD

  • That's not only possible, but fairly common, as are strong independent women who like to be submissive in the bedroom. All normal if it's consensual and safe.

  • I'm really shy and I am so scared of hurting people and being mean, yet I'm the dom for my girlfriend.

  • You've seen him both ways. If neither one is a turn off then go with it.

  • A lot of people are both, but whay someone is outside the bedroom has little to no correlation.

  • The thought of a sexually dominant nerd is so cringe inducing to me. Of course I don't appreciate anyone ever trying to assert dominance over me. I will never understand why some women like it. Yuck!

    • A sexually-dominant neckbeard who's into anime and My Little Pony, now there's a sight to behold.

    • Behind your questionably polite demeanor, there's a bit of eeriness. It seems likely you are a closet dominatrix. I give you credit for resisting the urge to lockup hot submissive males in your closet. Anyway, men are far less loyal than Andrew. Why complicate things?

    • I agree! A nerd who is a dom, don't work!

      • I'm going to hit you with this pepper spray, and then my stun gun.

You're not funny, except maybe to your own self.

  • Yeah that’s perfectly normal. I know many people that like to dominate in the bedroom but are the complete opposite out of the bedroom and vice Versa. He just had a bit of a dark side; nothing wrong with that ;)

  • I'm a dominant guy in the bedroom, my boyfriend is more submissive. I'm still quite dominant outside of sex, I'm confident and assertive, and I strive to achieve what I want, but I'm still a chill, easy-going kinda person. He's also quite similar too myself in regular life as well. Not as dominant as me though, lmao, but still.

  • IDK, I can be both submissive and dominating in the bedroom.

  • You didn't say how the hook-up went. Was he dominant in the BR? Did he guide you during the playing? As long as it was a safe playing for you, and you were satisfied, were there any problems?

  • I like to switch in the bedroom but financials should always be under my control. Idk what kind of decorations my partner does but that's my only stickler part.
