I guess I'm in the same boat as you. The other day, I spent four hours underneath a stranger's disabled Jeep so that she could drive it home and then to work so that I could finish it this weekend with the proper tools. Before that, I lent a friend of a friend who I didn't know one of my cars so he could get to work while we try to fix his. In between that, stupid shit like buying homeless people a meal when they ask for money.
Some people tell me it's generosity, some people tell me it's naive, I personally believe that it is simple courtesy based on convenience. I conveniently had a second car, a spare five dollars and the ability to fix the jeep. There is no good reason to allow someone's life to be harder if you can make it easier without going too far out of your way.
Does doing big favors for ppl I barely know make me come on strongly?
