Does doing big favors for ppl i barely know make me come on strongly?
So I have a bad habit of helping people I barely know or doing them huge favors not because they asked, but because I offered myself. Psychologically I might have issues because I do more for others than I do for myself, and work on other people's problems instead of working on my own.
I help friends and family too. But that is okay because you know them. It is weirder when I help acquaintances
I'm wondering if this makes me come off too strongly to others? I have no ulterior motives. If I help a girl I dont do it to get in her pants. If I help a dude I'm not expecting money or a huge favor in return. But I feel people will think, "gee. why is he going out of his way for me when he barely knows me? What is he upto"
Most recent example: I offered to lend a classmate my spare laptop (I use a desktop) so that she could complete her lab assignment because her chromebook wasn't compatible with the software
