Does anyone have inner thighs that are darker than their normal skin tone?

Okay, this is embarassing but...This has been bothering since I hit puberty. My inner thighs are way darker than the rest of my body. I've seen bikini models who have perfect skin tone. I wanted to be able to wear bikinis or swimsuits in the beach/pool but I can't because I'm ashamed to show my inner thighs.

Does anyone here had/have this problem? If so, how did you get rid of it?

I think it's because, although the inner thighs don't get much sunlight and so they should be lighter in color, at the same time the thighs are constantly rubbing against each other and against pants and underwear, so that kind of makes the skin there thicker or tougher.

Bikini models are bikini models because their bodies are what current social norms hold to be perfect. So you're basing your dissatisfaction with your own body on comparisons with women who are examples of something close to physical perfection.

You'll also know that photos of models are routinely manipulated and the end result often looks little like the woman photographed.

If you're very self-conscious about your skin tone variations, you might seek advice from a reputable cosmetologist or dermatologist. Alternatively, you could just try to accept that your body is what it is. Also, bear in mind that you're quite possibly seeing something freakish which others might not even notice. If someone at the pool should mention this issue, you could ask them why exactly they've been staring at your inner thighs.
