Does anybody have an apple watch? are they worth getting?

Just wondering if anyone here is getting an Apple Watch or already has one? And are they worth the money? I see a lot of commercials for them. I hear they can help you find your IPhone when you lose it? What do you think? Would you get one? Or would you just be fine with your cellphone and that’s it?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I don't own any Apple product. Not worth the money.

  • They're worth getting if you want to make a statement about yourself (and not a good one)

  • I have a Fitbit.

  • I find that having a watch is great for tracking exercise when carrying a phone is too cumbersome like running,

For the average person, its useless and a waste of money

  • The answer depends on your level of Apple fetish or addiction.

For some they are totally necessary.

For others they have no value.

  • Watches became obsolete years ago. No matter what you do to it, it still is.

    • Traditional watches yes. Smart watches (and wearables) are the future, because eventually people will ask why they need to carry a hunk of metal in their pocket when they can have the same functionality on their wrist, hands free.

      • Because watches make your wrist smell bad.

      • Smart watches are the future for dumb people. That’s why they named them that, as a deliberate insult to the wearer.

        • Do you use a smart phone?

          Comment Hidden ( show )
        • Sarcasticism aside, dumb people would buy a dumb watch if it made them feel less dumb. Selling a smart image to smart people becomes more difficult as their level of critical thinking increases.

In defense for both you and I, smart people may enjoy IIN just for a good laugh.

            • Thumbs up, Tommo. Internet content is the metaphorical oxygen that my brain thrives on. I change up stream-of-consciousness surf paths to keep search engines from locking onto presumptive cognitive biases.

Just keep me plugged in, man.

  • I have a Huawei watch (and phone) and I love it.

The main benefit for me is keeping track of my exercise (steps, run distance, heart rate) without needing my phone on me. It's also cool that I have detailed stats on the phone app.

    Was really worth the money.

  • I have a Samsung watch basically the same thing. Im not big on it. Its my work watch. Works alright for that. I have watches I care for much more even though this smart watch costs way more than them. Honestly its just annoying. I mich prefer mechanical watches and the features are boring as heck after a day. I just got mine set to watch only at this point

  • Doesnt your phone already serve as your time keeping device?

      • Yeah a non smart watch is great. It tells time, nothing wrong with simplicity. I dont need a 500$ smart watch when a 500$ phone can do more.

I'm not one for vanity, efficiency is what I strive for. So I'm not gonna tell someone to buy a 500$ gold watch.

  • I can't answer your query, since it seems to come from a parallel universe where the only tech company that exists is Apple.

No Apple product is good value for money. Apple exploits the workers who produce its products. Apple engages in tax avoidance on a massive scale. Apple builds obsolescence into its products. Apple essentially retains ownership of its products after purchase by designing their products to brick if a consumer dares to try to repair an Apple product in a way that doesn't add a few more bucks to the obscene pile of cash the company is hoarding. In short, Apple treats the buyers of its products almost as badly as it treats those who work in the sweatshops producing the products.

Oh, and Apple was founded and run for many years by a greedy, egotistical, manipulative twat who continually treated everyone he came into contact with like shit.

The Apple logo is the badge of a gullible fool whose main preoccupation is fitting in with the fashionable flock.
