I'm mid 20s and my boyfriend is 25 years older than me. It's hard at times but I can usually handle negative reactions from others. I wouldn't have been able to at 18 though. I feel I was still very much a child then and I view most others I have met the same way. So I'd be worried about your friend's motives because I personally don't think he should be dating a teenager. But you could be very mature for all I know. Good luck.
