Yes, I get chest pains when I feel crushed too. Its like a really, really bad anxiety attack, but worse.
I think that a lot of times physical pains can be the result of emotional pain. When your mind/body and spirit start feeling under the weather you could fall into dark depressions that can lead from one thing to the next. Not eating. Not sleeping. And in the end, they all lead to you feeling physically, not well.
You'll find yourself complaining of muscle aches, head aches, and your diet might not be the healthiest. Over eating, and sometimes not eating at all.
To feel good physically, you have to feel emotionally and mentally good first. Everything should begin from the inside out.
