Literally hurt?.. I don't think emotional pain can turn into physical pain unless you really want it to.. You can convince your body that your heart is literally broken and it'll cause pain but other than that, it's not really possible.
Maybe I'm just over thinking this but I just find it really odd. My last ex destroyed me emotionally after our break up and I had a "broken heart" but that never transgressed into physical pain.. and emotionally I was hurting pretty bad.
You're implying I have a healthy relationship with my parents. I would cry, yes. But I wouldn't be the least bit hurt, depressed, or sad over the fact that death happens even to those close to me. It's just another step of life.
That's true....I just lost my dad and still feel like my heart's being ripped out of my chest...I hope you get to experience love one day! I can't imagine life without it...
I'm sorry for your loss but don't be absorbed into his death. You can't change it, try to move on and forget the hurt. You'll waste your life away being like that..
I know what love is. I have had my heart broken but it didn't physically hurt. I was incredibly depressed for 6 months, isolated myself, and never talked to anyone because I couldn't stand it. I know how it feels mentally, just not physically.
The emotional pain manifests into physical pain because you're mentally tricking your body into thinking that your heart is actually broken. It's all in your mind.
I thought you were just trying to say I was wrong. Sorry. I know what the word means but that statement could have been taken the wrong way, as I took it.
haha you must be young! You are very dogmatic so it would be terrible if you were ever wrong! A more mature person would accept the opportunity to learn something new and not waste time dwelling on a tit for tat response.
As this site is mostly opinion based, you don't need to always take offense if someone disagrees with you! You might want to think and then give a considered opinion before you commit it to print.
Does a "broken heart" physically hurt for you?

Of course it can, that's why doctors tell patients their pains / illnesses are psychosomatic!

Yes, that's what psychosomatic means!
Where do you think you feel pain?
Duh. In the brain!

I am sort of young. Just been having a bad week is all. Usually I'm not so quick to assume. My apologies. :)
