Do you use the block feature?

I've got three people on my block list.

One spun a convincing tale in an exchange of lengthy PMs over a period of several days, but turned out to be either a particularly perverse form of troll, or someone with serious problems separating reality and fantasy.

I think the others constantly made snarky and ignorant comments in response to mine, so I decided to stop annoying them.

I don't understand why some people think blocking is unfair. When you block you're not limiting anyone's freedom of speech, but simply exercising your freedom to limit the crap you encounter.

I feel like it's a pussy move, like putting your hands over your ears and saying, "I can't hear you".

The exception would be if someone kept spamming and harrassing you.

One time, a long time ago, I was really disgusted by someone's comment, and blocked them, but not anymore.

I usually reply to people with whom I disagree.

Well, out of your options, I now go with "No i dont believe in blocking users"

I did try it some time ago, but then 2 things happened:
-Posts were pretty much dead;
-And I missed out on other users' conversations.

I felt so lonely that I unblocked them. Then they blocked me.

Civilized mutual dislike isn't for everyone.

I've blocked temporarily. Usually only for a day or so, although certain users have had longer time outs.

I only blocked one person on this site over a year ago. He was a 12 year old with multiple sockpuppet accounts pretending to be different people and he went around begging people to buy him IIN gold. I found him annoying after a while, so I blocked him. I have blocked others unintentionally, but I usually correct that when I notice.

I have blocked a very few people. I don't like to block, but the feature is available so why not take advantage. If someone is clearly stalking you, and constantly harassing you then what's wrong with blocking that person? Nothing, there is nothing wrong with blocking a person who is stalking you, or trolling you. It might not seem like the most sporting thing to do, but there's nothing wrong with it.

How do you see which users you have blocked?

Why would anyone block anyone on here? Everyone has such helpful things to say.

I block people who are obviously retarded, but I usually unblock them later on.
