Someone one told me that people are going to do what they are going to do regardless if you trust them or not. It is better to give them the benefit of the doubt and trust them unless they do something to break that trust.
You cannot have a happy romantic relationship with out trusting each other. So might as well start out with trusting one another from the get go and continue trusting each other. If someone breaks that trust than thats a different story. It is very difficult to rebuild trust.

I judge a person's character based on their merits not on my past experiences and hang ups. I always give people the benefit of the doubt but when they break my trust thats it I end up cutting them off.
You're very condescending if anything there should be varied levels of trust but never full trust in anyone or even your own decisions. when your trust is broken blame yourself for being naive enough to run with the blinders on
He lives by it and he is miserable. He has no friends and doesn't talk to his family. Once I'm gone he will have no one. He is depressed because of the way he lives. I wish you luck and hope you don't end up like him.

I'm not young, and if you don't learn from your life experiences what's the point?
My ex had the same rule as #1. He never broke it. People with this rule will never be happy because they will be very lonely through life.
