  • As for me, long story short, I wasn't doing anything wrong, just hanging at a creek. Apparently the cops were looking for a specific person. When they saw me, they shine a bright light in my eyes and screamed "STOP RIGHT THERE, PULL YOUR SHIRT UP" I stopped and pulled my shirt up for 15 seconds to show them I didn't have anything. I let my shirt down. Then they yelled "PULL UP YOUR FUCKING SHIRT", i was like sheesh okay, and complied. Then another cop comes over holding my backpack, which he had already illegally searched, and found weed in.

After all of this is said and done, I get a few lawyers opinions, they all say it was an illegal search, and my lawyer gets them to give me my second deferred prosecution (first was for an MIC, and you're only allowed one deferred prosecution in your lifetime) as a deal. (It costs less money to make a deal instead of paying a lawyer to go to trial, and even if I fought the case and won, it will still show up on my record the same as if I just got the deferred prosecution)

    • The courts may assume people are innocent until proven guilty. Cops assume EVERYONE is guilty until proven innocent. Cops will find ANY reason to charge you, even if there is no proof or if they didn't follow protocol. Then they just let the court decide, and let the people explain why there are horrendous charges on their record.

I can go on and on about all the people I know who were falsely charged, held on mistaken identity, and even tackled to the ground and pushed into the concrete for wearing the same colored jacket as a criminal they were looking for.
