We have similar backgrounds. I had an abusive family life too, and have dealt with depression. I was bullied at school but I don't think it was really bad enough for me that I'd class it with those other two (which were life-changing).
People seem to think, whatever gift you've got, that you can just rise above the things that affect others, as if you have some magic spells. I don't understand that logic. If it hurts them, it's going to hurt us.
I'm sorry we've been through some of the same things. I'd rather neither of us had.

And of course I would rather no one have to go through any of this, but it's good to finally meet someone I can relate to.

It's true. You can never really know what someone's life is like. But when you find out, it's usually not what you expected at all.
