Do you think women "glowing" when pregnant is a legit thing?

Do you think that the saying "oh she is glowing" when pregnant is an actual thing?

I used to think it was just the polite thing to say to any expecting mother. Not in a condescending way, just more in a supportive way. But then acquaintance of mine from back in high school is pregnant. And when I see pictures of her for some reason I actually see it.

She looks so beautiful to it me, more so then when she wasnt. Granted she was already a gorgeous lady, now her face just seems so much more appealing and that's the only explanation I can think of.
I mean it's been almost a decade since I've seen this person in real life since they moved away during high school. And were only really acquaintances at this point, and I don't have some weird lusty crush. I have just been struck by this, maybe im older and more mature that i can see this now, idk.

But does anyone one else have an opinion on women "glowing" just curious

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Not all women, but I have noticed some who have a glow about them. It seems to happen more when they are pregnant with a girl. I've been told that girls take their mother's beauty...just an old wives tale kinda thing, but an interesting deduction nonetheless. One woman I know did look a little prettier when she was prego with her girl than with her boy.

I have a theory that when women are pregnant, the child's personality shows through them, so maybe their looks do too.

  • It could be hormones make their son a bit more oily

  • It's a polite way to say " you've gotten fat".

  • I think their happiness at becoming mothers does make them "glow" more than usual, and these women are extremely beautiful to me. ^~^

However, all pregnancies are different. Some mothers have happy pregnancies with few symptoms, and others are... more excited for the birth than the process it takes to get there possibly due to harsh symptoms.

  • Not nearly as much as awkward and uncomfortable.

  • Hormonal changes and the body retaining more moisture tends to make the women look fresh and dewey. Or some shit like dat.

    • You're a genius at making legit-sounding shit up.

  • No. I don't recall ever noticing that in pregnant women.

  • Of course they glow! Pregnancy increases the power level by 20,000!

  • In polite society-
    Women glow,
    Men perspire,
    and
    Horses sweat.

Maybe that's what they mean by pregnant women glowing.

  • I don't remember which one of my many wives it was, by let me tell you, when she was pregnant with Ivanka, she looks fabulous. Nobody has wives like Trump.

    • As long as they aren't Hispanic right?

      • I love Hispanic people. I just sold an apartment for 15 million dollars, to a Hispanic person! I even fingered Jeb Bush's spic wife at a fund raiser where I gave a lot of money because I am very rich. But when Mexico sends these people over the border, they don't send their best. They are bringing drugs, they are murderers and rapists, and some I imagine are good people.

  • This should be a poll.

And i prefer someone to comment below verses just voting with no reasoning why

      • I thought it was pretty self-explanatory. The stories are supposed to be yes/no "is it normal" questions, while the polls are open-ended like your post. I didn't have anything to say in regard to your post topic, so I thought since I 'arrived' before you had any other comments, I'd suggest you repost this as a poll, but instead of heeding my advice, you chose to alienate me for it. I was trying to be both helpful and constructive with my comment actually.
