I don't care what you identify as. I'll refer to you by your genitalia, mental illness or not.
It's a mental disorder. I don't know why they get so fucking sensitive about it either. We all have disorders some just more noticeable or of greater effect.
I thought it was already considered a disorder. GID?
Doesn't mean it's bad.
Body dysmorphism is called to mind. If you look in the mirror and see something that's not there, or you 'feel' different to what you are in reality, that's body dysmorphism. Psychiatrists use this description for people with anorexia/ bulimia, when a person will literally be skeletal thin, dangerously underweight and look in the mirror to see an obese person. When what you are and what you feel like are different, there is an obvious misfiring of some vital brain connection. I don't think people should be stigmatized who feel this way, but treated with dignity and respect, as should all people period. Thanks for asking this question.
Ask a trans person this exact same question! Please let us know the outcome!
I'm friends with a tranny actually and they are perfectly normal except they have a dick and tits and dress as a woman. They don't really fool anyone with the get ups but it's just what they're into.
Otherwise perfectly normal.
Maybe were normal maybe were not maybe were Cray Cray, but know this we have been around since recorded time if not longer so think what you will say what you will but I'm living as a woman and I'm finally happy in life. I'm more confident more socially out there and I actually smile now, I think I smiled maybe twice growing up, and that's barely an exaggeration. So maybe I'm mental maybe not, frankly I don't care cause I'm happy and my boyfriend is happy. What more could I ask for? You can sneer or talk shit all you want but I'll still be happy so why let yourself get angry at someone else's happiness? Anyways we are what we are and for every person that sneers at us there's one that likes us. Besides even if you don't like us try and be respectful? We are causing some part of ourselves harm and opening ourselves to criticisms that can even prevent us from getting work so really don't you think we get enough shit? Just be happy for your fellow human!
I recommend watching The Danish Girl from 2015, directed by Tom Hooper for some insight on transgendered people, especially the ones who desire to go under a sex change operation. This movie happens on the 20's in Copenhagen, so its gives you a perspective on the early beginning of the sex operation pioneering movement, not to mention its based on a real life story, it's a biographical movie. I could recommend alot of other movies related to the transgendered people, but this one will be a learning experience.

"Is it normal?" is an entirely different question from "do they have mental issues?"
No I think god created them that way to keep shit interesting. I also do not think god is male is female.I shared this with my rabbi and he seemed irritated.
Stigmatization of transness and mental illness in one post!!! Well done!! Or should I say, maybe well done, but until science gives an explanation we can only speculate
Honestly, the purpose of our being here is to procreate and to continue the existence our species. So you would assume that if we are "wired correctly, or as intended by nature, that we would be attracted to the opposite sex so that we might fulfill our obligation of procreation. Assuming this is the case then you could speculate that anyone not wired this way is mis-wired somehow. That maybe their brain chemistry is off balance in some way and that their desire to be with the same sex is simply due to a chemical imbalance or mis-wiring in the brain. I tend to believe that this is the case...however, until there is a solution (a pill or shot that will correct the brain's imbalance) then I think we should be tolerant of other's lives and lifestyles. I mean if this is a chemical thing then there isn't a damn thing they can do to help how they feel. It would mean that they are not making the choice, but rather forced to feel this way due to the chemical imbalance.
