I think the classics are just as good as today's music because there are a lot of good music out there beyond the crappy pop culture stuff. But I will say some of today's pop culture is pretty good like Eminem and Katy Perry because they are real and don't autotune. Also because they have real meaning in their songs instead of talking about how to do weed, like Lil Wayne or Drake or Kid Cudi. They have no real talent. But beyond most pop culture which is mainly pop and rap, you need to think about rock bands out there that are amazing! Take Linkin Park for example, my favorite musician/artist of all time. I love no other artist more than them. But it's because they have real meaning and yeah they use technology, but a lot of it is real. Yes I know they have a DJ but he's to distort the instruments and SOMETIMES the singers(Chester and Mike). But there's other great bands to like, Three Days Grace, Evansescence, Skillet Flyleaf, Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine and so much more that I can not even name, because, despite most crap most musicians make today, they are in the underground making a real name for themselves without fucking up today's youth. They are extremely famous, talented, AND REAL. Now for the classics, I like a bit of it, but I don't love it as some do. I like AC/DC, Guns n' Roses, The Beatles, you know the bands who made an impact on music and made it to what we have today.(Not meaning they contributed to making rap.) I mean rock alone, without them rock wouldn't be the same. I'm meantioning rock bands and genres because it is what I know best, I'll admit there are other artists of different artists besides pop culture that are amazing talented, but I don't like it because I didn't grow up with it. So just try and find all the modern music people don't generally listen to and you will know then that it doesn't all suck. In reality most of it is pretty good because rap and pop are only two genres of the doznes out there, especially rock, there are so many types of rock. So just explore it all and I'm sure you will find something of today's music that you will enjoy listening to.
