I'm half Japanese and half Caucasian and people make jokes like these all the time. When I was about 13-15 these really hurt, but now people that say them, they just look plain silly. You can tell they aren't mature enough to know whats rude and whats not rude to say, and also if they know or don't know their basic geography.
