I probably should know more about geography. It's by far my worst subject. I know the basic stuff but that's about it.
Most of the time when I would make a stereotypical joke, it's just to poke fun at the stereotype. One example was a black friend and I were eating and I happened to be eating fried chicken and some watermelon while he was eating a burger and fries. It seemed too ironic to pass up.
I too suck at geography - But Locally. I may know where Japan, China and the philipines are, but I can't find anything in the city I've lived for all my life.
I think basic is just fine aslong as you know not all asians are chinese. Or african americans are born in africa or the difference between spanish and hispanic, & stuff
