Do you think the term "Yank" is derogatory?

  • Since the origin of the term 'Yankee' is uncertain, and it's abbreviated form 'Yank' is derived from this, it is a term of endearment. The only reason that it is sometimes considered to be derogatory, is because of later propaganda.
However, one should be careful with it's usage. Not all Americans appreciate being called a Yank (some are more accepting, in the correct context). It would be somewhat like calling a person who lives in England, with English ancestry, a 'Scot'.
If, perchance, you are an American who is offended because someone called you a 'Yank', then simply correct them. Respond with something like; I'm not a 'Yank', I'm from (name the state), or I'm a Mississippian, etc., or I live South of the Mason and Dixon Line you moron.

      • A command?
You are in direct violation of Rule #8.
Your Ethical Rating has been diminished.

Furthermore, my comments are based on a well-informed and well educated knowledge base.
I am not "talking", I'm writing to you chucklehead.
Also, I'm not doing this "everywhere", only in select places.
I believe that the last part of your statement, "mentally challenged pseudo-intellectual" would be an ideal description of yourself. Hardly befitting of a DEITYofDeity.

            • He made the mistake of underestimating me and now he's losing ground.

He can't do anything to me and he knows that. I don't care if he's really just a troll getting his jollies on or if he truly believes what he's saying. Heck, I don't even care if he's telling the truth and there really are "shadow-beings" out there that he's made friends with. It doesn't matter because neither he nor they can touch me.

"Any harm be done by me shall return to thee by power of three."

And back to joking around: "Use the force, young Skywalker."

Would you like to see how I'm winning? (You may have to start at the beginning of the conversation and work you're way downward, but it IS a very entertaining read... If you're into science fiction. ZING! xD )

          • Primarily, because you had demanded your 'rights', refused to accept advice, continued to act in contempt and continued to exhibit harmful, Unethical behaviours.

            • That makes no sense whatsoever!!

I have the right to refuse advice, I have the right to live my life as I so choose (as long as I am not hurting or slandering anyone), and I have the right to believe my own religion and have my own opinions!

Why is that so bad? Shouldn't everyone be given the right to live as they wish as long as they don't hurt anyone? This is the main principle of my Constitution!

              • So-called 'rights' are earned through responsible behaviour. Your behaviour has been irresponsible and reprehensible.
You are hurting everyone, including yourself.
You are slandering everyone, including the VHATC-L2.
                Did you write this "Constitution"?

            • Go through my username and pick one of my stories, there you can RE-post your reply:

"" It is well known that Jesus was born in Bethlehem and lived in Nazareth.
Your assumptions are incorrect and inaccurate. The land of Judaea was a Roman Province at the time. The Romans kept records (they were very advanced and civilised. Although all these records might not have survived, this knowledge was passed down. I think that most Academics will agree with this. Please check with Academics experienced in this region / era of history for the validity of this statement. I can't know everything.

I try not to make assumptions.
What you just did, was to create numerous divisions in society. Please cease and desist from this destructive behaviour. You have just divided many people into different religions, branches of religions and sects of religions. I have been trying to heal these divisions.

WHY ARE YOU CREATING DIVISIONS IN SOCIETY?

Also, please do not use -ists and -isms, as these are also divisive.

Please, please try to think rationally before you act.

I keep trying to bring the people together, and you are tearing them apart! ""

When you post this in one of my stories, we can continue the conversation that was interrupted.
