It depends on what you mean by equality. Everyone should have equality in opportunity, but the concept of equality of outcome is terrible and attempts to make the great mediocre while boosting the sub-par. That is not a good thing in any situation.
Everyone is equal in legal jurisdiction in america. There are no laws contradicting against anyone for any race or creed... unless you side with the current left. They want to make it all about your race and your orientation. It's about division with them, they are the true racists out there.
You're right. I think this is what bugs me. Not sure if I can blame the leftist for it completely but if let's say a girl was raped and needed to talk about it and how she didn't know that there is such cruelty out there then you have a few people ready with "You know boys can get raped too. Like you girls aren't the only ones suffering."
It's annoying how many can't focus on the topic at hand because we're so focus on being equal or seemly considerate of everyone's pain when the situation doesn't even call for it.
people always tell me equity is better than equality. equality everyone is treated the same. equity with all things considered people are treated fairly. like if someone is a doctor they will be payed the same as another doctor. if someone is a fast food worker they will be payed the same as other fast food workers. even if fast food workers make less than doctors both professions will be paid enough to live comfortably
But why would anyone work fast food anyway in a booming economy? Theres much better gigs out there. You could hit up craigslist and learn to pour concrete even. Bam 25 an hour
Free men arent equal (because some people are smarter or stronger)
Equal men arent free (because people don't have the freedom of using their gifts to get ahead of others)
Its kind of like if you said
"If the government was in charge of income and it gave homeless men the same income as say a doctor or a lawyer (both high paying jobs) you hold the doctor or lawyer back from using their skills to get richer than the homeless man."
If you allow people to be free they will never be equal. Because of many factors but one may be the homeless man is not as smart as the doctor/lawyer.
Its impossible to make people equal in a free society.
