Do you think starbucks is overrated and/or overpriced?

What is your opinion? I'm not a coffee drinker, so don't go outside of when I'm with a friend who wants to stop by one. Some people love it, and some think it's absurdly priced and not that great. Also, what is with the trend of people posting pictures of their Starbucks cups on social media?

It's OK, I get a drank there a few times a year. Sometimes I just want a coffee when I'm out of the house and I like the options they have. There's a locally owned coffee shop near me that's great but it's not usually on my way so I don't go there a lot either.

I do think it's overpriced though, I can't believe people go there every day. I make coffee at home in a Chemex and you can't get better than that IMO.

I love Starbucks and I think it's overrated at the same time...It really does have some great stuff going on for it, and from what I've read that brand really has put a lot of effort into making things more eithical, atleast in SOME ways. Of course it's probably made some pretty fucked up business choices too, it just kinda is what it is.

I love finding more obscure little coffee and tea places personally. The best ones also sell alcohol. :D I have yet to go to one personally though lol, but having whiskey alongside a cup of coffee in a a place with WiFi where no one is being loud and obnoxious does sound nice.

I don't thing there's anything wrong with Starbucks coffee per se. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but their espresso seems to me to be as good as anything I had in an Italian bar when I lived there.

The main problem with Starbucks is how much sugar is in their invented drinks. The largest size of Mocha Frappuccino that WeirdGuy likes (even when it's served by camp gay guys) has about 350 calories. So, on its own, that's 14% (one-seventh) of his recommended daily calories. When a woman has that drink, she's consumed about 18% (one-sixth) of her recommended maximum calories for a day.

That's not a uniquely high calorie-count for Starbucks drinks. The highest calorie value I spotted on their current UK nutritional info sheet was their Venti Oat Caramel Frappuccino which has 450 calories. That's getting on for a quarter of a woman's advised daily calories, and a fifth of a man's. It's kinda ironic that all of the oat versions of their drinks (which are supposed to be a healthier option, right?) actually have higher calorie-counts than even the full-fat milk versions.

These drinks aren't coffee; they're desserts. And they're a good example of how American food producers load their products with sugar and then present them as something other than what they actually are. Starbucks obviously isn't solely responsible for so many Americans and Brits being overweight, but they are part of the problem.

Both. Here in So. Cal. we have Coffee Bean & Tea, and we go there if there’s one nearby. If not, 7/11 has good coffee too.

We dont have 711 in the middle TN area that I know of. I hear Cali ppl talk about it a lot. Starbucks is one of those that you know is gonna be good and they're always in the suburban areas. Oddly enough there is this coffee shop in this hospital that my wife used to work and its 100x better than starbucks. It was so fuckin good I wish they had a bunch of those

Its pretty fuckin good coffee. I use the starbucks brand at home. I get the large Mocha Frappuccino when I go. People often say "starbucks sucks its overated" but I think they just cant afford it because it really is good. Its kind of a weird company though. I went the other day and there was a lot of queers. As soon as I walk in theres a giant sign that says "we encourage our employees to ride bicycles to work"... just some weird shit like that there. But they do have good coffee but its not my kind of hangout.
