did i say all that? that's another discussion anyway.
But if you think that harmful useless products should be manufactured because of jobs and the taxes that can be put on them, then why not legally manufacture, tax, and distribute heroin for the same reason?
In fact heroin has killed far far fewer people than cigarettes. Not even comparable numbers.
You want to put more people on welfare then. More people sucking off the government's milk supply ... which will only hurt the economy more..
why? Because of your own personal feelings on smoking and smokers?
This is what always gets me...
Certain political groups always talk about freedoms, promoting personal freedoms, freedom to do what you want to your own body... UNTIL you chose something they personally disagree with
Then they try to take your freedom away, try to play the "we'll decide what's good for you little child" card.
screw that.
if a legally consenting adult wants to smoke let them.
If you don't like it? Well it's not your business what choices they make with their own bodies right? :-)
you assume only welfare mommies are killing their babies
in reality many wealthy women abort because the child isn't "convenient" for their lifestyle and welfare moms keep the kids, especially if they can get more $$$ for them.
but hey if you want a government that dictates to you what you can eat, what you can drink, what you can smoke... do not be surprised when that government continues to pick out things they feel you shouldn't be allowed to do or have.
You personally have issues against smoking so you're not against banning it.
But hey why stop there. Let's ban soda, juice drinks, unprotected sex, alcohol, candy... let's make it all illegal ... because somehow each one can in fact be unhealthy if overdone.
Where should society's "rights" start and personal freedoms end?
And what happens when something YOU like because banned because someone else decides it's dangerous to everyone else?
also, it is probably true that some "rich" women have abortions for the sake of convenience. But most abortions are done by unwed very young girls and women. the social benefits of abortion (lower crime rates, lower poverty) have been pretty convincingly shown. the 1973 roe v wade decision falls in nicely with the drastic drop in crime of the 1990's, because all those juvenile delinquents who would have been coming of age then were not born and could not do crimes.
i smoked for almost 25 years darling, and was up to 3 packs a day, and even then i wasn't pro-cigarette the way you are.
If you want to keep smoking then please do so. I don't think cigs should be illegal. But I'll tell you this - when the govt taxed cigs till they were 7-8 bucks a pack, that was the motivation I needed to finally quit. probly saved my life too.
Anyway, I love marijuana so i know what ur talking about. Been fired, fined and jailed over the years for my use of it too. Meanwhile you won't go to jail for smoking and you can still buy cigs in every corner store. So that puts things in perspective.
dont let the fact that you think all anti cig people are socialist commies trying to stomp out your freedom cloud your judgement. I believe in freedom like you do. Probably even more so. But separate your politics out from things that are just common sense.
if heroin was as widely used it would cause far far far far more death and suffering than tabbaco ever would idiot, heroin is the most horrible drug ever along with meth, a hot shot(unusually pure) is all it takes to kill a addict or a dirty needle for that matter, and then theres the families, then theres the people who import the heroin more deaths there, the slaves at the poppy feilds, your ignorant
i'm not advocating that heroin be legal you moron. I'm making a point about angel's argument concerning tobacco and the jobs created from making it. I'm applying what she is saying about tobacco to heroin.
Heroin is a bad substance. But you are also a retard by virtue of the fact that almost every thing you list there as being bad about heroin stems from it being illegal. Think about what you are saying. Or just think, period.
no completely different A people would still be dyeing, every one would be stoned of their tits on heroin (because its legal every one would be on the welfare. children would grow up thinking heroin is okay, tobacco is way diffrent give it up you lost it when you compared it with heroin
no smoking isn't healthy but its every ones own choice, i smoke im not hurting anyone but you would stick your nose in to other peoples personal choices any way ur a tard :)
ur retarded and make no sense never compare tobacco to an A class drug
dude you called me an idiot for smoking 3 packs a day. Well, I quit. Ten years ago. You're still smoking. I'll leave it up to you to figure out who the idiot is.
So you don't think that a drug that kills 1/3 of its users (millions word wide each year) and costs tens of billions of dollars in health care cost, disability and loss of productivity world wide every year should be compared to other dangerous drugs? Look into it a little better because its a good chance your "choice" is going to kill you.
But since my dad died of lung cancer some years ago (who btw started smoking before the dangers were known, and quit 15 years before he still managed to be killed by his former habit), i wouldn't wish that fate on you even though you are a grade-A stupid prick.
Do you think smoking is healthy?

do you think we should legalize things like heroin for the same reasons? (job creation, taxes). this is a serious question.

Seriously?
So ... put a tax on metal spoons and lighters?

angel dear, sounds like ur the one with the political agenda, not me.
Anyone with common sense hates cigs and would be in favor of them completely disappearing from earth. It's not political.
one more thing though. Cigarette smoking and the health care and cost DOES get passed on to everyone whether you or I like it or not.
On the other hand abortions CUT DOWN on the number of people on welfare because welfare babies get aborted.
So if you want to be economically prudent, you should support regulation/outlawing tobacco AND abortion at the same time. No contradiction involved.
