    I think you hit the nail on the head with "taxes".

    Marriage these days is paying the government to fuck legally. That's all it is.

      Yeah, there's no other benefits like EIC, survivors rights, legal authority, custody of kids, jail/prison/hospital visitation, ehh...so on.
