Do you think religion is a plague?

  • I would compare this to gun issues. A gun can be used for good, or to protect yourself. But there will always be people who take it too far, or people who cannot handle it. The gun isn't to blame. The person is.

    • People can't be trusted with guns like they can't be trusted with religion.
Look at the homicide statistics for the one western country that has guns lying around the house compared to those for all the rest that have strict gun laws.

      • Sorry, I just hate people who are anti-gun and use that tired old logic.

      • Your right!

In those countries they use other things to kill each other. Like anything and everything. People who want to kill people will use anything handy.

I live near bear country (also cougar, copperhead snakes, ect). So to protect myself and those I care about I NEED a gun. No your right it's better that I get mauled and bleed to death to protect your high minded baseless argument.

            • So what do you think of them? America's statistics are up there with war-torn countries like Iran.
Coincidence or something to do owning a gun being as 'normal' as owning a car.

              • Statistics can be manipulated to say anything and often are when there is motivation. With that in mind lets look at something anti-gun people don't want to look at, knife violence. In your holy land of Europe your just as likely to die from a stabbing than a gun. That is seven times more likely than in the Americas. So what is the result? In some countries like China they have restricted people from buying knives. You can't buy pocket knives without proper ID. And in China proper ID can be hard to come by.

All this means nothing to me. My brother would have died at fifteen if I didn't have a gun.
