Do you think people are generally good or evil?

  • Impressively articulate. Just note it would be wise to avoid the study of chaos theory.

    • "Impressively articulate."

Thank you. Not too bad for a Dutch guy, eh?

"Just note it would be wise to avoid the study of chaos theory."

You are a moral relativist as well I understand?

      • Nope. A few absolutes do exist, morally and in physics. Chaos is one of them.

        • I think you may have misunderstood me. You seem to think I'm a moral relativist. However, when I asked "you are a moral relativist as well I understand?", I wasn't implying I am one, I was referring to Tommythecat, who is one.

Like you, I also believe a few absolutes do exist.

          • I like relativists and relatives. But I cannot deny the existence of absolutes. So I think that,

            1. Because not all can be absolute, it is absolute that some is relative.
            2. Because relatives will conflict to some degree it is absolute that there will be conflict.
<this next step is the fun part.>
            3. The degree of conflict will mirror the degree of chaos because chaos by definition is the observable result of conflict. <Not the hypothetical concept>

Alas, wars wage on, crime/punishment self -perpetuates, divorce, drugs, global warming, and economic exploitation are like waves on a story ocean. Can these maladies be quantified, and predicted as we are powerless to obliterate them? Yes, chaos theory helps us with this. And, Tommythecat smiles.
