I’ve heard tracing be used as physically going over the artists work and copying it and also heard tracing as in seeing the image and doing it yourself. So idk what the correct term is but back in High School I had to do a Georgia O’queef piece and all her weird art looked like messed up vagina so I did this one:

For something like this it’s okay to copy but give credit to the artist because it’s not your original idea. I’ve never actually traced over someone elses work and probably will never do that. I like seeing a image and redoing it this one was fun to do took a lot of oil pastel blending. It’s different if you are inspired by the image and do your own touches but not the same exact thing.
Not to bad but could have been better. I did it when I was a Freshman I think and on brown paper that was almost as tall as me which made things a little tricky. But It was fun to do. If I had a pic of it I’d show you.

that’s why I call her O’queef instead. Took so long to find something that wasn’t a “flower”.
