Do you think it's harder to live as a boy or girl?

  • I actually had to think about this one for a while. But here is my take on it.
It all depends on ones own personality: some might feel repressed under certain norms or ideals and others don't. Same goes for tolerance of pain for example: we cant tell if one specific person's experience of pain is the same of our own, it most likely isn't, and how we react to it is determined by our own personality traits. But the fact of the matter is that, even though ones personality surely have something to do with your gender, we have no way of telling how the gender implicates ones personality: surely gender isn't the only factor.
When we say "i would be better of as the other gender" or "i am better of as this gender", this "understanding" is build on a very vague understanding of how our personality is effected such factors. For example you might say: "i would be better of as a girl" but by this you assume your personality remains the same and therefore the experience of different things is the same. But like earlier stated, this isn't so: your personality would be affected by being the other gender, and as such your experience of different things would be altered. But again! gender isn't the only factor, so gender alone cant explain how your experience of norms and ideals or feelings such is pain is, in short:
We all experience things differently, and while this has something to do with our gender, that is far from the only factor.

I apologize in front if my spelling is incorrect, or some parts are tough to understand: english is my second language.
