I don't like it. Many already see the red sheep on the homepage as a sort of mascot. I wouldn't want to be called the "IIN red-sheepers" or whatever, though. "IINers" is fine by me. As is IIN "members" or "users".
I dont think it would boost the community vibe, if that's even the aim of it. Nor can I see any other benefits of it. Let it happen naturally, if it is going to happen, rather than contriving some name that a lot of people don't want or even like. Seems forced, fake and unnecessary. Sorry to be a buzzkill about it. I think it'd only click on if the majority of the community were enthusiastic about it, so we'll just have to wait and see whether they like it.
