Really? I try to stay away from diagnosing strangers with mental disorders online, especially when those disorders can be crippling. But hey, Doctor DavidS, go ahead and give someone advice that'll mess up their lives.
My mother-in-law was a therapist for years, by the way, so I do know some things about mental and emotional illnesses. I also know that it's a really bad idea to tell people online that they'll "end up like Michael Jackson" if you sincerely believe they have a psychological disorder.
But you're right, David. It makes much more sense to tell someone they're sick and "worse than most BDD's." You have a bright future ahead of you as a psychologist, clearly. :)
Do you think I have Body Dysmorphic Disorder?
