I think it gets confusing being so immersed in that world all the time, and sometimes that turns out stuff like black and yellow plaid or crocs.
At the same time, I think they're generally trying to convey something through their art. It seems likely that when a designer wants to convey ideas that aren't entirely honky-dorey, the result is a garment that is less traditionally beautiful.
