Much as I laugh at high fashion, I see what they're trying to do. The stuff they show on the catwalk is an exaggeration of what next season's style is going to be. You rarely actually get stuff like that in the shops, but it's influenced by it.
A bit like supercars. The design of the cars people actually drive are influenced more than you might think by Italian supercars (often Ferraris, despite Lamborghinis being much more interesting).
Yes, I agree with what you said, but I meant stuff that actually is sold in stores. An example I can think of right off is some certain high-end purses.
