i think that when children are young they believe whatever they are told to believe. It's the same deal Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy (not that I'm comparing religion to that obviously). They don't really have enough independant thought until they are at least in their teens. I was a Catholic and a believer when I was very young, but when i reached my teens I became unsure in what I believed in. I don't think their is really a correct answer to this one. They can if they want but they dont know what they are doing at full.
