Do you think "Asexual" is normal?

  • It's not really normal as in common, but there's nothing wrong with it, so I don't believe it's anything to worry about.

I do believe it is real, as I'm pretty sure I am asexual, myself, or at least have a nonexistent libido. I have never had any sort of a sex drive or desire for sex. It could be attributed to the birth control pills I take for health reasons, but I never really felt anything before that (though to be fair, I was pretty young when I had to get on it). I have never felt horny or "turned on", have always been grossed out by the thought of having sex, etc. and I'm 25, so as for the years of being told I'm "just not ready yet", I think that ship has sailed. Either that or I am a very, very late bloomer in this aspect. I've also been told I "just haven't found the right person yet", but have never felt sexually attracted to a person (the maybe 3 crushes I've had in my life were all people I just wanted to be close with and hang out with, but I never had any sexual fantasies about them and was grossed out by the thought of them being naked or having sex with them), either.

Some people just have no sex drive and no desire for sex.
