    I find it really, really hard to believe. I feel as though it's more of a social construct. But I suppose it happens.

      Yes, it happens. People just want to express how they feel so if they want to identify as Asexual then by all means.

        So it's a choice? People can "identify" as asexual? Just like people can identify as black even when they aren't, or people can identify as a man/woman even when they aren't?

          Technically, someone tell everyone else that they're not what they are; that doesn't stop it from being lying, though.
