Yes, but the first we'll come across will be like microbes, not like ET.
Ofcourse they do, if the universe is infinite, then life must also be infinite. It's 100% certain that they do, it's just that they aren't going to be what we imagine, no flying ships and whatnot. There would be aliens both more and less advanced than ourselves.
the universe is every thing that exists...you...me...the pervert across the street...time...nature...space...love...hate...war...speach...the universe is not just a bunch of planets in stars...a new child born every day what lies ahead in his or her life? that for the universe to deside...the universe is infinite
No one knows if the universe is infinitely large, or even if ours is the only universe there is.
But since the Big Bang (when the universe is confirmed to have begun) it has been 13.7 Billion years. And therefore light has been traveling for that long as well.
Many state the entire Universe is flat, or spherical.
So measuring across our known universe and taking into account 'rapid expansion' and dark energy accelerating expansion, scientists estimate the size of the universe to be about 156 Billion light years across (end to end) and expanding!
We live in one of the 100 billion known galaxies in the Universe.
Our galaxy is called the Milky Way (I know, sounds a bit silly)
Our solar system (Earth, Sun other nearby planets etc etc) would be smaller than an atom when compared to the entire size of just our own galaxy! On a clear night, if you look up, you'll see only 0.000003% of all the stars just in our galaxy!
There are billions upon billions upon billions of other galaxies out there. Each with up to hundreds of billions of star systems and their trillions of planets! Is there likely to be other life out there?
YES.
i believe is 13.7 EONS since the big bang (exactly 390004384278436833798053383779983583292680001 years) i just played my "i know every thing" card.
The number you stated is ~ 390 Dodecillion (a number with 40 zeros after it)
Your 13.7 Eons = 13.7 Billion years = 13,700,000,000 years
Although, the amount of stars, planets etc would be far more than 'Dodecillions' anyway.
My wording on previous post stated:
billions upon billions upon billions of other galaxies out there. Each with up to hundreds of billions of star systems and their trillions of planets
ie: Billion x Billion x Billion x 100 Billion x Trillion
= 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 (Which is a number with 50 zeros after it!)
I think I may have been conservative though.
I'm sorry, your quoted number was over 10 Billion TIMES too small.
Yes, because the universe is so darn big. But I doubt they've ever visited us, and think it's entirely possible that humans will never meet them at all. I suppose radio contact at some point is reasonably likely if our species sticks around for a while.
The picture on my profile was found in space. They think its a alien bug.
to have contact with an alien youd have to have some pretty big balls. and not even johny big balls had big enough balls and he had HUGE balls...hence the name.
If there's not aliens then I will believe in relgion/god. With the infinite amount of planets/solar systems/universes, there HAS to be some other life out there..
If you mean the big headed/eyed gray aliens who experiment on humans then idk.
