  • tell you the truth, i think events like that attract the attention of the haters, and that causes problems. there can be things like that but i think they should be a little more secritive.

    • But why should they have to hide from the haters? Let the haters hide from them. Let them shelter themselves in their cozy cocoon. This is a way for the gay community to shout, "you know what? We're happy and proud with who we are, and we shouldn't have to hide it." I think they deserve that pride, because they've never been able to voice it before. Secret pride is not pride.

      • i can understand that, i cant stand watching them get hurt over there sexuality. did you know that soldiers who were gay and in the army, when they died a bunch of god damned haters show up and protest saying that god is happy to have one of them die, never mind that the parents a mourning the loss of a loved child. they are freiken a-holes. thats why i think they should be a little more under the covers because i dont want to see more get hurt over something that doesnt need violence or hatred.

        • I get where you're coming from. But the onus is upon us to change the homophobes, not the other way around. If the gay community is still hiding in reaction to the haters, then they're still oppressed, nothing is solved, and the hatred roams free. There will always be hatred, but to cower in fear of it is to be a slave to it.
