As a girl I wouldn't sleep with a guy on the first date just because you're trying to get to know a person and sex just adds a different element to a relationship. I would think differently of a guy if he slept with me on a first date, I wouldn't want to be with someone that's willing to jump into something that intimate after one date.
Your first impression on a first date is important if you really see yourself having a relationship with someone you should wait to get to know that person. The only time I've slept with someone on the first date was when I wasn't interested in pursuing a relationship, I was only interested in hooking up.
