Do you support hong kong?

I generally enjoy anything that annoys china and its communist party. I especially love the Hong Kong protests those guys and gals are doing what is right for themselves.

I really hope that they just seperate from china and become an independent city state.

Yeah setting cops and building on fire isnt a good thing to do in general. Though for this I make an extreme exemption for this instance because EVERYTHING is owned by the communist party of China. It's one thing to burn down a private buisness it's another to be burning property of an extremely corrupt and authoritarian regime.

In this scenario I welcome these american flag waving freedom seekers!

The rest of China should rebel against the communist government as well.

I support them 100%. They should avoid Chinese rule as much as is physically possible. Hong Kong is a great place and that's at least partly due to them being so separate to rest of China. Promises are being broken and the people of Hong Kong shouldn't stand for it.

If they're ACTUALLY fighting for democracy, then fine, okay.

I am personally not a supporter of either democracy or communism, because I am not politically engaged.

But I can understand that everyone is different and they have different opinions. You simply shouldn't force the whole world to have the same ideologies as you, just because you think your opinion is the best.

Are these protesters actually fighting for democracy? They aren't.

Are you serious about thinking that what they want is actually democracy? I doubt whether the majority of them even know what is democracy, because if they do know, then they wouldn't have acted the way they did.

May I ask you: Does democracy include the freedom of speech?

Of course it does. Freedom of speech is a very important part of democracy. If these "protesters" are real supporters of democracy, they would have allowed people to have different opinions. They would allow disagreement.

But GUESS WHAT? They don't allow disagreements. They set someone on fire JUST FOR HAVING A DIFFERENT OPINION. Is that really any different from North Korea, or some random terrorists from middle east?

Aren't people supposed to be allowed to have different opinions & freedom of speech in democracy? These protesters are fighting for democracy by breaking democracy apart. That's ridiculous.

I honestly don't think these people are real democracy supporters. THEY DON'T EVEN ALLOW OTHERS TO HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS. People don't even dare to argue them & tell them that they disagree.

I know someone from Hong Kong and she told me that she's really scared by these "protesters". It's one reason why she plans to study abroad...

Is democracy about killing people because they disagree?

I don't think so. I don't know much about politics, but even communists aren't this extreme. That's fascism or something.

These people aren't fighting for democracy. Their every action is against the very basis of democracy. If they are, then they are promoting democracy by breaking it apart, which would be ridiculous.

(Imagine if you try to protect lions by killing 100 of them first)

But still, you can't ignore what they are doing & say that it's good just because it's claimed to be "for democracy". Putting the name of "democracy" on something doesn't necessarily make it good. Coating random violence with a sugarcoat of democracy doesn't make it any better.

What they've been doing recently is practically random violence under the name of democracy. It isn't actually helping with democracy, and it hurts everyone.

Also, you just have to accept that some people believe in communism. You shouldn't force them to also believe in democracy, because its their own freedom to believe in whatever they want to. Someone isn't necessarily bad just because he believes in communism, and somoene isn't necessarily good because he believes in democracy. It's only an opinion thing and you simply shouldn't dislike people for having different opinions.

      • Yeah but communism is still bad though.

Pure democracy is bad if theres only one party and it's the communist party of china.

Chinas communism has literally killed more people than hitler... by like 5x USSR has killed 4 million by communism.
Communism in of itself is due to fail due to human variability on knowing what's fair.

This is hong kong. Not china. Hong kong has been independent culturally from the rest of china. China wants the ability to extradite prisoners from hong kong back to china. They get their own mayor (puppet for the communist china) to say to do so. People in hong kong are fully aware what happeneds to chinese prisoners (you think usa is bad? China makes the usa look like sweden.) Especially politically opposing communism.

The Tiananmen square massacre is a good source on how china handles any political diversity. The average protester is in support of the usa and europe because they know we will back them up. If things go like Tiananmen square. They know we will help them fight back (even if we have to do it under the table)

Go Hong Kong. Fuck communism hope china ends up as a japan 2.0 some time in the future.

I think the protesters need to be helped to better plan & organize their protest, instead of commiting random violence, which apparently isn't the solution. They should be helped to come up with a better plan to communicate with government...
